2022 Honda HR-V / Vezel Hybrid: First Test Drive
This excursion into slightly nerdy television culture is allowed as a transition, because we are approaching the new Honda HR-V for the first time. The third generation of the small SUV series in the B segment, which is also known in Japan and other markets under the name Vezel, will be coming to dealerships in early 2022.
With a length of 4.34 meters, the HR-V is hardly or no longer than its predecessor (which was 4.29 meters long from 2015 and also 4.34 meters after the facelift). The two centimeters lower height with a simultaneous increase in ground clearance by one centimeter makes the newcomer look stretched and significantly flatter.
Lots of space and "Magic Seats"
If you open one of the four doors, the sentence mentioned at the beginning may come to mind. As is typical of the brand (who has ever sat in a CR-V or Jazz?), the Honda HR-V offers plenty of space.
This is especially true for the rear, where even the 1.92 meter tall author still has plenty of room in front of his knees and gets his feet well under the front seat. Only the headroom suffers, due to the early sloping roof. On the outer seats of the rear seat you sit very comfortably, but a fifth passenger will not be happy in the middle, even on short journeys.
